Minutes from historic downtown Bath where one can enjoy a weekly farmer's market on Saturday, held in the waterfront park. Buy fresh produce, flower bouquets, local meats, or yummy homemade donuts! Meander through the market, enjoy sitting by the river, or walk up a block to the downtown shopping area.
You'll find much entertainment right in downtown Bath with it's many restaurants, cafes, antique shops, gift stores, pubs, and clothing stores. We even have a natural food store and small grocery store all in a centralized area! Not to mention the Chocolate Church Center for the Arts where you can see live performances, the Maine Maritime Museum to learn about the fascinating maritime history of the area, or take a train ride up north at our recently remodeled train station!
Looking for a day at the beach? Down the road you'll find one of the most beautiful beaches in Maine at Reid State Park. Known for it's Mile Long Beach and exquisite natural beauty, treat yourself to a relaxing day at the beach. Or if you prefer swimming in fresh water, Arrowsic Islanders have a favorite swimming spot at Sewall Pond. Drive past Reid State Park to Five Islands, where you'd be sorry to miss out on eating fresh steamed lobsters out on the deck!
In close driving distance, there are so many wonderful and charming coastal communities. One such area is Boothbay, home to the Botanical Gardens. Visit Boothbay Harbor for a schooner trip, shopping in local stores, eating ice cream on the dock, and watching the bustling coastal life.
The city of Portland, just 40 minutes south is another wonderful place to visit for the day or do some shopping at all the outlets in Freeport. Want to experience nature more? There are so many options for local hikes or walking trails that you'll find one week is not enough to experience them all!
